Welcome to the 16th Purley scout group, offering opportunities and life skills to about 50 boys and girls aged 6-14. The group is made up of one Scout Troop, one Cub pack and one Beaver colony. Thoughout the lockdowns we’ve kept on Scouting, meeting on Zoom and camping at home, but now we’re back for summer 2021 meeting on the Gruffy near our HQ at the centre of the village.
Camps, hikes and days out are organised throughout the year by the sections. Each year, we have an annual summer camp for a week for both Scouts and Cubs. Beavers have the opportunity to join us for one day. Members of the sections work to complete badges and awards with the aim of achieving the highest available award for their section.
Although we have a long friendship with All Saints Church, we own and look after our own HQ and all our members make the promise most meaningful to them.
New members are always welcome-so please get in contact if you have any questions or would like to come along to see what it is all about!! Many of our members are from the local schools, so you are bound to know someone!
